Joy Journeys is dedicated to providing an exceptional and personalized travel experience. Our tours are designed for small groups, with a maximum of 10 guests, ensuring a more intimate and immersive journey. For our Cu Chi Tunnels tour, we focus on the less-crowded and more authentic Ben Duoc Tunnels, offering a deeper and more meaningful exploration of this historic site. Unlike the more touristy sections, Ben Duoc provides a quieter and less commercialized atmosphere, allowing you to truly connect with the history and significance of the tunnels. Our expert guides will lead you through the underground network, sharing incredible stories about the resilience and ingenuity of the Viet Cong soldiers who once used these tunnels during the war.
Throughout the tour, you'll have the unique opportunity to see original wartime booby traps, touch an ex-US Army tank, and even crawl inside sections of the tunnels to get a firsthand feel of what life was like underground. You'll also experience the daily struggles of the Viet Cong by tasting their staple food locally grown tapioca right next to the tunnels. Additionally, the tour includes a visit to Tan Phu Trung Ward, where you’ll witness the propaganda of Viet Cong soldiers, as well as an exploration of the underground Hoang Cam kitchen, where meals were secretly prepared during the war. The highlight of the experience is crawling through the tunnels yourself, an unforgettable moment that allows you to step back in time and truly understand the perseverance of those who lived and fought here.

Very well explained tunnel systems that you can enter. Of course, there are a few tourists who come here by bus, but it's really manageable. We were guided in a small group of about 10 people.

We learned about Vietnam spirit and how the tunnels support their resistance. The jungle was hot so wear appropriate clothing. We had Ken as a tour guide, he was super fun and knowledgeable!

Cu Chi tunnels Ben Duoc tour was a great experience. Our group thoroughly enjoyed the day. It far exceeded our expectations from the luxury van to the lunch (which was part of our tour package) and finally the awesome tour of Cu Chi Ben Duoc. This location was perfect for our group as it wasn't busy and we had time and space to explore without other tourists. We were able to do 3 sections of the tunnel at our own pace without anyone else around. Great thing is you can go as far as you like or can manage. Starts to get harder the further you go so you may end up crawling out the last tunnel like me 😂 For smaller people it's a breeze to get through. Highly recommend getting private VIP service like we did through EVT in Ho Chi Minh. With them you get the choice of buses (we chose limo bus) and lunch package which is a quiet location along the Saigon river. Cost us about $75 pp which included lunch, entry and transport with tour guide (Ngoc Duc) who was very friendly and knowledgeable. Location is much better than the busier Ben Dinh which is a little closer but has a lot more tourists. Try both if you can but if you prefer a quieter more private experience then Ben Duoc is the better option. It's over a 2 hour journey each way so comfortable transport is recommended. Also maybe take a spare top for the trip home as you may be completely saturated from sweat after exiting the tunnels (or you can buy a t-shirt from the gift shop as we did. Go for 2 sizes up for a better fit)

I highly recommend buying your ticket directly at the entrance and hiring a local tour guide on-site. The guides there are very knowledgeable, they answered all my questions and didn’t push me into any commercial stops or detours. The visit itself took about 2 hours, and the travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi Tunnel is around 2–3 hours round trip. So it’s best to start your trip in the morning to make the most of your day.

Ken was very informative. He shared stories and history of the tunnels and the Vietnam War. Well worth the money.

Tom was a very informative guide! Our group had lots of questions during the tour, and he answered them all thoroughly. He shared many interesting insights about the history of Vietnam, and his passion in story telling really came through. He also checked in on us regularly to make sure we were comfortable throughout the trip. Highly recommend this tour if you are planning to visit the Cu Chi tunnels!

Cu Chi Tunnels – My Hometown, My Pride As someone born and raised in Cu Chi, I’m proud every time I visit the Cu Chi Tunnels. It’s not just a tourist spot, but a powerful reminder of the resilience and creativity of the Vietnamese people during wartime. Walking through the narrow tunnels and hearing the stories makes you truly appreciate our history. Simple local touches like boiled cassava with sesame salt or green tea add to the experience. If you want to understand Vietnam’s past in a real, emotional way — come to Cu Chi. It’s my hometown, and I’m proud of it. 🇻🇳

Good trip, well worth doing whilst you are in Phnom Penh. Small group, good guide and transport.

It was basically a private tour as it was only me and one other person. Huy, our guide, was very knowledgeable and pleasant. I learned a lot, the tunnels are fascinating and definitely one of the more unique things I've ever done. I definitely recommend this tour and this agency. They were incredibly professional from start to finish, even moving things around to accommodate my booking even though they didn't have any other reservations for the same time.

Amazing day out! There was so much to see and do here. We didn’t pay for a guided tour (with a group) and were a bit worried we wouldn’t know where to go etc. But there were so many helpers and you do also get a guide that takes you in the tunnels and tells you all about the history. If you want a cheaper day out I’d definitely recommend just buying a ticket without a guide. The guide was super funny and friendly. We did get stuck there for a couple of hours waiting for taxis which never arrived. This was due to the fact we went when it was the Lunar new year, so all the drivers were just doing short journeys in the city’s and busy areas, rather that out in the middle of no where.
